I am so encouraged to hear you have made it through to a place of surrender and peace and have a whole new perspective. Love this Scripture and thoroughly enjoyed your inspirational words in this post.
Love you Deanne!!!! Praising God today for the freedom and peace that comes from surrender. xoxox
Hi, Linda! I hope that you are doing well. I completed most of the “Yes to God” study and juggled it with Priscilla Shirer’s “Gideon.” With both studies, I have thought a lot about obedience. A year ago, I had surgery and was laid up for about a month. During that time, I got hooked on too many TV shows! You know, with Netflix, you can catch up on all those seasons you missed! But over time, God started convicting me of the content of TV these days, and that fact that I like to read and really didn’t have time to do it all. Since the TV shows are between seasons right now, I went through TiVo and deleted most of my shows. It was the best timing ever. However, I have not given up Downton Abbey and hope that God does not impress that upon me….LOL Anyway, I too have felt liberated.
Elizabeth, I’ve only watch Dowton Abbey twice…good thing because I don’t want to have to let go of anything else…LOL! I’m doing the Gideon study now and I LOVE IT!!! I’m learning so much from it. Congrats on giving up some Netflix. 🙂
Hello, Linda. Thank you for sharing about the peace that you felt after giving up something. God’s peace is so wonderful! I have several things I need to give up and am praying that I can give them up and not go back.
God Bless You. 🙂
Melissa, Often times we have to surrender over and over. I’m learning that it takes time, effort and consistency. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could give it up once and be done with it? But some things have a stronger hold on us that requires daily surrender. Thank you for commenting!
Hi Linda! What a way to say yes to God! I’m happy you are experiencing peace and have a new outlook. I’m looking forward to experiencing that same peace as I let go of the things God is asking me to let go.
Hi Linda! After listening to you and rereading this Scripture verse, I thought about the past 3 weeks…I too have just finished the Yes to God Bible study and have been trying really hard to stay God-focused and praying for His help to be obedient. But there is one thing that no matter how many times I wake up and offer up this one particular situation, by the end of the day I have taken it right back. I am leaving for Denver on Thursday and I am hoping that the time away will remove me according to God’s plan and I will return with a fresh vision and a new perspective filled with His peace through His grace and mercy. Thanks for helping me to know that I am not alone in my struggle and that with hope, faith, perseverance and God’s grace all things are possible!
Thanks Mary for sharing and letting me know I’m not alone in this 🙂 Lifting you up right now in prayer sweet sister. xoxoxo

Thankyou for challenging me through your Inspirational Coaching Minute- ‘ Is God asking you to let go of something?’. This is the second time in the last couple of weeks that I have had the challenge to let go.. of my PRIVACY. It is something I have gaurded very well in my life so far and it’s time to let go. To give my all. The verse you shared in 1 Peter 5 v6-7 has helped me to see that humbling myself in this will not be harmful but will actually make me stronger as God’s hand will lift me up. My deep anxiety about letting privacy go is about to be cast fully onto the One who cares for me.
