Recently after taking a self-compassion survey, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I realized how hard I am on myself and how little compassion I show myself.
We are all beautiful just the way we are. I am beautiful just the way I am.
In this picture as a young girl, I really had no self-compassion or any concept of it. I remember always feeling not good enough.
At 39-years-old I’m becoming very aware of how important self-compassion is.
Will you courageously join me in self-compassion and comment on my blog. Tell me what makes you beautiful?

One thing that makes me beautiful is that I love to encourage other women to live life to the fullest. To trust God and let His forgiveness fill every part of their heart.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit here with us Tammy. ((hugs))
Hi Linda
One thing that makes me beautiful is my heart for others and to love and encourage that God is and can do what He says He can do, , and He can and will forgive all of the mess.love to live my life for the One and Only
Carol
I agree with that Carol! You continue to encourage me daily with your beauty. Thanks for all you do! ((hugs))
One thing that makes me beautiful is my compassion for people – especially those in need, especially children. I think what I’m learning is that showing myself that same compassion is not selfish, it adds to my beauty. It’s giving myself permission to receive the same gift of compassion that God gave me which I share with others
I agree with you Randi! You share your compassion with me always. You are truly beautiful my friend.
One thing that makes me beautiful I hope, is my eagerness to show kindness to others. I had to sit back and really think about this because I do not show myself the same kind of kindness I portray to others, which often puts me in a quandary because, if I can’t truly Love and feel compassion for myself, am I being true to others? I think so because it makes me feel so warm to pursue an act of kindness especially to someone I don’t know.
Thank you Kathy for sharing your kindness here. I can see what a beautiful person you are through your words and examining self-compassion. Great awareness. I’m giving you a pat on the back for self-compassion. We can do this together 🙂
What makes me beautiful! Is the love of God living in me! And learning I can’t love anothers if I don’t love myself!
Dorothy, you are beautiful in so many ways. Loving yourself makes you extraordinarily beautiful. Thank you for sharing your heart here. ((hugs))
The beautiful part of me shines when I can offer words of encouragement to others. I am especially comfortable with those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one. I love sending hand written notes and cards to people. This is a gift from God.
Sheila, that you for sharing your beautiful spirit on my blog. I love how your aware of the gifts the Lord has blessed you with and then using them to light the world with His love.
I am learning so much about myself and I believe what makes me beautiful is I have a kind and loving heart and I am working on seeing myself from the outside just as beautiful. Thank you so much for all of your coaching minutes. I really enjoy getting the emails and reading all of the blogs your write.
Deanna
Deanna, thank you for sharing your kind and loving heart with me. You are beautiful my friend. It blesses me beyond words to know that my blog continues to encourage you. ((hugs))
Yesterday, I had someone ask me if my middle initial stood for angel (it’s A for Ann). I was just so shocked. I guess I can see the kindness in others sometimes, but fail to recognize it in myself, so this exercise is just what I needed. I am beautiful because I have a caring and compassionate heart.
YAY Veronica!!!! I’m a thrilled to see how this helped you see the beautiful you. Thank you for sharing! You are a beautiful angel to me too. 🙂
I believe what makes me beautiful is my ability to forgive. I made a decision many years ago that I would never not forgive someone. I know that unforgiveness can do horrible things to you. I also know that if I want to be forgiven I must forgive. It isn’t always easy but it has made a difference in my life.
I love that Donna! You just encouraged me to step out in faith and truly forgive. Thank you for sharing your beauty with me. ((hugs))
The one thing that I love about myself is my compassion for others, and my willingness to help others when I can. I just need to learn to set boundaries. Because I am so giving, I usually get taken advantage of.
I agree Courtney with setting boundaries. I’m learning the more boundaries I set, the more self-love I’m experiencing as well. Praying your doing well. Much love and ((hugs))
I am beautiful because I am filled with the love of God.Having a heart like unto God makes you a beautiful person.Makes me love myself and others and wanting to help others in anyway that they need help.I love all peoples!
Thank you Linda for sharing your beautiful heart here with me. Your beauty and love for others touched me as I read your words. Much love to you my friend.
I was realy moved by your post ‘ Your’e beautiful…..just as you are, and your question, ‘ What makes you beautiful’, made me really think about that. So here is my response:
Gentleness and kindness – At one point in my life I thought this was somehow less, but now I actually feel these are strengths. So I am thankful for how these two attributes make me beautiful. Thankyou for helping me to see that too.
I think the most beautiful thing about me is my smile. It’s what I share the most with the world. From my super excited “I’m so proud of you come give me a hug” smile, to my simple “It’s okay, things happen for a reason. Let’s go have some coffee and we’ll cry together” smile, to the simple smile I share with strangers when I pass them on the street. Smiles change days. They change moods. They change lives. In my eyes, they show compassion. They share with the recipient of the smile that you’re there. You’re along for the ride, good or bad. You’re wishing well for them. It’s because of all of this that I try to smile a lot. I think my smile is the most beautiful gift I can give.
P.S. – We were neighbors over at Coffee for Your Heart this week. Hello Neighbor! 🙂
