Are You at Peace With Yourself?

I was listening to Joyce Meyer the other day and as always she spoke brilliantly into my life. She said,

mtnpeace

I don’t know about you, but I could list a dozen things I do not like about myself.

Isn’t that sad?

The one thing I’ve wrestled with most of my life or should I say “the thorn in my flesh” is my critical spirit towards myself.

The one thing I love to do more than anything in the world is to build others up with encouraging and motivating words, but so many times I tend to tear myself apart.

I am ready to make peace with those critical thoughts, but how?

Last weekend my Pastor said to treat our thoughts like a prisoner of war. Interrogate them. Immediately when a thought pops in our mind ask it, “Where did you come from?” and “Who sent you?” And if it does not align with God’s truth then take it captive. Do not let those negative thoughts lead you. You are supposed to lead them.

It’s time to stop being intimidated, fearful, ashamed, condemned by what you don’t like about yourself, instead make peace with it. You might need to get a little creative but remember you already have a spirit of self-control that lives inside of you. It’s waiting to be activated.

Join me today and begin to take hold of those thoughts. Leave a comment below and let me know what you are making peace with.

    • Thank you Heavenly Father for giving Sharon peace and forgiveness to those who have hurt her. Lord I pray for any chains of resentment, fear, or unworthiness to be removed from her in the name of Jesus. Thank you Sharon for sharing with me. Much love to you.

  1. Linda, I am making peace with my impulsivity and impatience. Having prayed that the Holy Spirit lead me to Jesus in all things.

    • Oh Mary I can relate to that all to well! Instead of allowing condemnation in my mind around these same struggles that I have, I seek God’s conviction. When I start hearing the lies of shame and that I will never get it right I remind myself that I AM A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST JESUS! You too my friend. Making peace with the things we do not like about ourselves often times takes speaking the truth to ourselves 100 times a day. God will transform both of us in this area. I’m claiming His promises for both of us. Thanks for sharing.

    • Heavenly Father thank you for creating every one of us individually with our very own unique beauty. May we all live from our heart and the beautiful spirit within us. Give us eyes to see and embrace our beautiful selves. There is no other beauty like you Holy Spirit that lives inside of us. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen. Thank you Deanna for sharing. Love you~

  2. I am making peace with the fact that my outward appearance and struggles to lose weight all of my life do not define who I am . I am God’s child and that is my focus.

  3. I struggle w/ self doubt, fretting over what others think of me, why I said or did this or that. I give it to God but keep pulling it back..
