My Invitation To You

invite

As another year comes to an end I like to spend a little time intentionally reflecting on the past year. It’s good medicine for the soul.

It creates gratitude.

It’s a gift I like to give myself.

Either I’ll carve out a day to get away to a quiet place or I’ll take a little time each morning for a few days to reflect.

Just a few months ago for my 40th birthday I connected with a group of girlfriends for a nice dinner but instead of having any old conversation we focused our time together on thoughtful questions to ponder.

It was a beautiful purposeful evening filled with intention I treasure.

As your Christian Life Coach I want to encourage you to schedule a time of reflection, maybe even today?

When reflecting, I like to take out my journal and write down all the sacred simple moments I encountered throughout the year.

Now I know how easy it is for our minds to go to that place of ugh!!!! I wish I would of, should of, or could of this year, but that’s not what this is about. This is a time to give yourself a {hug & a bit of love}.

Okay sweet friend?

So today I invite you to spend some time of reflection with me in the comments below. I’ll leave the first comment.

From my heart to yours, thank you for being a part of my blog community. You are a gift to me!

*EVERYONE who comments will be entered to WIN a signed copy of A Confident Heart by Renee Swope. Winner announced next week!

  1. I’m grateful for so many relationships in my life…loved ones, friendships, mentors (so many authors, pastors that I listen to daily). I’m grateful for my husband and how after 20 years of marriage I’m loving more each day. I’m grateful for learning to listen to my daughter and sitting with her during those tuff times and allowing her to feel her emotions even though it’s uncomfortable for me. I’m grateful for pushing through SOOO many fears, anxieties, insecurities about writing my first book. I’m grateful for the times I’ve made a healthy choice…to exercise or eat right. I’m grateful for learning to give myself compassion. Most of all I’m grateful for God’s unconditional love, for the gifts of His spirit he’s poured on me.

  2. There are quite a few “ugh” moments, I will try to get past those to see the positive. I took a step out of my comfort zone toward God calling me to be involved in something more than just “church”. Learned that it still requires listening to God for the next step, which may be leading in a much different direction than the first step. Being in fellowship with God is where I need and want to be. Trying to get rid of the idols, especially pride.
Your blog posts seem to come at just the right time to encourage me! Thank you!

    • LuAnne, Congratulations on being obedient to God and getting outside your comfort zone. I find when I do that God’s greatest gifts await for me. I love your honesty about letting go of pride. We all struggle with that idol. I’m excited to see where God is taking you. With such a beautiful honest & real spirit like yours God will accomplish many divine blessings through you. Thank you for commenting. I appreciate you.

  3. Instead of an “ugh” I’ll give myself a hug! Thanks for the chance to win a copy of A Confident Heart.

  4. Linda, as I reflect on this past year, I am so grateful for my family and loved ones…the return of one of my daughters and my granddaughter Eden to the fold…my daughter mother to my miracle grandson Andrew, medically fragile and only given 3 days to live, now almost 7…my blessing of being Andrew’s Special Educator since he turned 3 and our “graduating” from the public school Early Childhood Center to first grade in our neighborhood school, fully included in a typical class…the joy of my youngest grandson Shamus as he scurries about chatting all the while…my son, kind and gentle, with a heart from God…my parents at 83 and 85…and my brothers and their families. God has blessed me greatly with so much love!
I am thankful for my life…for a loving, merciful God. He is my Life, my Love, sweet Hope of my soul, my Everything!

    • Mary, your beautiful words of gratitude reminded me once again how precious life is…what a gift we have each day. Thank you for sharing your loving heart here with me. Much love & (((hugs)))

  5. I am so grateful to know Jesus! His presence is so precious! This year has been full of warfare but I am learning to be thankful for the trials and to declare what God says and not the world! I am grateful that I found a beautiful life coach in Linda! The time was short and flew by quickly but I was so blessed by it! I am so grateful for love and to be adored and chosen by a KING!!

    • Bethany you just made my heart dance 🙂 You are an amazing beautiful adored daughter of God. Forever grateful to be sisters in Christ. Honored to work with you. ((hugs))

  6. my son was abducted in 1997 & brought back in our life in 2009. It seemed to be the best thing but it has been more challenging getting him to allow us into his life but I am thankful God has allowed him to embrace us this past year & allowed all us to learn much. My dtr became a prodigal child & fell into addictions this past year but God brought her back home to us we are grateful for all his provisions to use this trial for a bigger purpose. We are grateful for the fingerprints of god showing us hope all along & even this horrible event we see was meant for her good as god used it to teach her so much about herself & about how faithful God is while she was in rehab. She has learned to come out of her shell & learned to interconnect with others which she lost that ability as a child when she shut down after her brother was kidnapped. I am thankful God provided her a job at our church & being in God’s home & in his presence daily & around others Christians has allowed her to thrive, change & realize all God wants for her. I am thankful for even the hardships because it makes the progress seem oh so much more wonderful. It showcases that God is truly involved in every detail for a purpose he is fulfilling. He gets the credit when others say my kids are too lost & too hurt to live a normal life, normal they will not be, God is making them extraordinary so He alone can get the credit. I am thankful for his strength, his courage, his hope, his provision, his deliverance, his redemption, the masterpiece of artwork that is a changing kaleidescope with many facets of beauty, wonder & awe in each member of this family. I am thankful He never gives up on us though we may want to give up he does not. Allelujah to my God & praise be to him for his unconditional, unfathomable love to us all.
