It’s hard to believe when I look at the above pictures that was me. And now in exactly two weeks I get to celebrate the Worthy of a Miracle book release! Can you say this with me, OUR GOD IS GOOD!
When I was diagnosed with cancer I prayed God would give me more time to share the love of Jesus with the world. I had no idea that would come through multiple miracles in the months and years ahead.
I would love for you to join me on November 10 to celebrate God and his MIRACLES!
Chapter 15, Speak Truth is one of my very favorite chapters in my book because of the VERYBIGMIRACLE that happened in my life through the act of speaking truth in my life. I cannot wait for you to read about this miracle in my book!
(Excerpt Worthy of a Miracle pg. 195-196) “Going through cancer and the coma, I learned the power of my thoughts and words. When I woke up in the hospital and could not speak, my thoughts quickly turned from defeat to determination. Backed by the power of the prayers of my family and friends, I insisted that I was going to breathe on my own, get out of the bed, and walk again. I believed that God had not brought me this far to quit. No one was going to stop me. My thoughts became my words, which became my reality.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rom. 12:2)
This was the Scripture I clung to while undergoing chemotherapy. Little did I know how it would impact the rest of my healing. Words are powerful. All of creation came to be simply through the power of God’s word. “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light” (Gen. 1:3). God’s word spoke creation into existence.
Our words are like the air we breathe. Our words give us life. It’s time to believe in the power of our words and the positive impact they can have on us. Speaking the truth out loud has changed my life, my faith, and my relationships with my family and friends. It has helped me let go of all the times in my childhood when I had no voice and learned to think my only real value was in how I looked or how I performed. Now I know that when I speak, Jesus is listening, even if no one else hears. I know this because of my personal relationship with him. Today, I know that when we speak God’s word, we have supernatural power and authority through Christ. And when we speak God’s words to ourselves, we do a better job of encouraging and uplifting with positive self-talk as we face life’s challenges.”
Today I want to encourage you to examine the words you are speaking to others and to yourself. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve had any experience with speaking God’s word out loud and what it has done for you.
When you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed with your schedule what can you do to get rid of that tension?
One trick I’ve shared with my coaching clients over the past few years is an acronym I created called S.L.O.W.
Stop … stop what you are doing. Listen … listen to your surroundings, to your heart, to God. What is it telling you? Obey … be obedient in what you just heard. Walk … put it into action, do it now.
Today when I was feeling overwhelmed I asked myself what can I do to stop feeling this way? Immediately I knew I needed to S.L.O.W. down.
Leave me a comment and let me know if there is anything you are feeling overwhelmed with today & be entered to win a copy of The Mended Heart by Suzanne Eller.

Have you seen War Room? Confession: I went twice this weekend!
This movie literally has changed my life. If you have not seen the movie, please go see it.
Will you take the challenge with me to step up and be more disciplined in your prayer life? I know when I sincerely meet with God, I leave a changed woman every single time. I’m not saying it will be easy, but I promise it is worth it.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
While discipline is so important for us to achieve our goals, it is even more important in our time with God. Our prayer lives must be top priority.
Let me know how disciplined you are in your prayer life or do you need to step it up with me? How might that impact the goals you are trying to achieve? Everyone who comments will be entered toWIN The Mended Heart by Suzanne Eller.

This park is my special place. Before my first chemo treatment I sat here and prayed to God 5 simple words, “May your will be done“. At that point I did not know what was going to happen or what the journey was going to look like, but I released it to him that day.
I invite you to pray this simple prayer with me. God, may your will be done in my life.
Whatever goals you’re working on or the dreams you have I encourage you to hand them over to God and ask him to guide and lead you.
Romans 12:2 tells us that the renewing of our mind will literally transform us. To accomplish our goals we must have the mindset of Christ, which is positive. I firmly believe I would not be where I am today if I would have given up and had a negative mindset when I was learning to walk again after my illness.
How are you doing with your mindset? What is your mind focused on?
Lets say our affirmation together: I am worthy.
Whatever your goal is I want you to know YOU CAN DO IT!!! We can do this together.

I was reminded today on my run of how I felt when I was in a coma. The feeling of being trapped, hot and unable to breathe brought back lots of anxiety.
I thought I was going to have to quit running and just go home. But I stopped myself and thought about it. The feelings of being trapped and anxious are nothing but darkness. That is not light … that is not Jesus. I had to make a choice, believe what the word of God says and speak life to myself or stay in anxiety and fear.
Because of my coma and the anxiety it brings me unexpectedly at different times, I have to be intentional about how I choose to deal with it. The same is true about our goals. How are we going to intentionally deal with the thoughts we have about our goals?
What are you choosing to believe about your goals? Are you choosing to believe the truth about yourself, what you can do and what is possible because of Christ living inside of you? Or are you choosing to believe lies and negativity from the enemy?

My heart is racing in anticipation for the journey that we are taking together over the next 12 weeks of free coaching. Please know that I am praying for you, your goals and dreams and that together we will rock this!
I’m so thrilled to have you joining me on this journey and to have your love and support as well. I’m so proud of you for making that commitment to dedicate the next 12 weeks to accomplishing your goals.
One point I want to make that is extremely important in achieving your goal is NOT the actual goal itself, but the preparation. What do you need to do to prepare yourself for your goal today? What do you need to do after you work on your goal? These are 2 necessary questions to answer because that is what will get you across the finish line successfully.
To achieve our goals it takes effort, planning and doing the hard work. What are the things you might not love to do, but you must do in order to accomplish your goal?
Here’s a video of me PREPARING for the race. Thank you Turkey Dash for my free shoes and Try Sports for such excellent services always! If you live in the Charlotte area I hope you’ll sign up here to run with me on Thanksgiving day at the Turkey Dash! I love my Mizuno running shoes!!!!!
Let me know in the comments how you are preparing for your goal? What are the things you might not love to do, but you will do them anyway so that you accomplish your goal? Everyone who comments will be entered to WIN a devotional by Lysa TerKeurst What Happens When Women Say Yes To God. Winner will be announced August 29.

Where is your secret place that you meet with God? Where do you feel most connected to God? This place where I meet with God is my little sanctuary.
A little over 5 years ago I remember being right here on this trail. I was undergoing chemotherapy and I had no idea how sick I was going to end up … in a coma on life support. I remember thinking as I walked the trail that the one thing I had for certain was God and His promises to me.
No matter what, God is faithful to the very end.
Let me know where is your sanctuary? Ann how has God been faithful in your life? Everyone who comments will be entered to win a copy of Your Life Still Counts by Tracie Miles. Winner announced Thursday.

Every October my mind drifts off into remembering the hell I experienced when I was literally paralyzed on life-support and the devastation my family had to face when they were told to accept the reality that I might die or if I survived that I would never walk or breath again on my own.
This year I’m creating new memories and a new attitude about the beautiful gift of life I’ve been given. For the month of October you can join me on Facebook or Twitter #JustLiveToday as I celebrate each day with an attitude of gratitude and I invite you to share with me what you’re grateful for as well!
Today, I am grateful for the LOVE others have poured into my life. One beautiful example of this love is from a dear friend and sister survivor Bonnie Wallace. She is an incredible writer, speaker and mentor to me. I have the honor of guest posting on her blog today and I would love for you to hop over there and leave a comment. If you do not already receive her blog click here to subscribe. Her messages give me inspiration and strength to live like I know where I’m going!
I appreciate YOU! I love that you are part of my blog community and doing life with you each week is a constant blessings! Grateful for you!!!
I have a beautiful 12-year-old daughter who looks as if she’s going on 19. I don’t know what happened, but it’s like I went to sleep one night with a baby girl by my side and the very next morning I woke up to a young lady who is madly in love with Justin Bieber, obsessed with what to wear and could never have enough colors of nail polish. Now all of a sudden I find myself in panic mode to make sure she knows “enough” about Jesus and that her identity is completely emerged in Christ and not in any way shape or form what others say about who she is. In my typical control freak nature, I’ve tried to have conversations (more like manipulations) with her to clarify who she really is and what she really believes.
So just last week I said, “Meg who do you think healed me from cancer?” and with a dumb founded expression she rolled her eyes and said “duh Mom, Jesus!” I have to admit I felt pretty stupid and yet a burst of relief all at the same time. That’s when I realized again we do not have to push our beliefs on others, but to simply allow others to observe our lives and decide for themselves.
As a Women’s Christian Life Coach, I have many clients that have husbands or loved ones that are not followers of Christ and they struggle with holding their tongue and waiting patiently for God to move in their lives. But what I’ve recently learned in scripture is that “Often we look for God’s glorious acts without concern for following his instructions” NIV Study Bible. My point being is that we must continue every day to patiently TRUST God in a posture of obedience with our lives. What does that look like for you? For me personally it starts with meeting the Lord on my knees in the early morning hours or putting my hands up to praise Him in worship. It’s funny how our postures show exactly what we are feeling internally. I would like to encourage you the next time you meet with God to notice how you are approaching His throne. Does your posture reflect His instructions for your life? Does it show the ultimate love you want so desperately for others to believe?
