This prayer I wrote today is a tiny glimpse of healing the Lord has done in my life over the last six months. I can barely put into words the way God has touched my soul. I am falling in love with Jesus more than I ever thought possible. The more I seek Him the more I find Him.
I hope you dear reader will take time in the quiet to mediate on this prayer and worship the Lord.
Where is God calling you to dig deeper in your life?
I tend to start my new year by thinking of how I can make personal changes, goals and dreams come true in the year ahead. While I will do those things, God has sweetly reminded me to value others above myself. (Philippians 2:3) I pray you will join hearts with me and pray for all those who are battling cancer today.
Please leave a prayer or comment below as we lift up cancer patients today. Thank you sweet friends. I love you!
Have you seen War Room? Confession: I went twice this weekend!
This movie literally has changed my life. If you have not seen the movie, please go see it.
Will you take the challenge with me to step up and be more disciplined in your prayer life? I know when I sincerely meet with God, I leave a changed woman every single time. I’m not saying it will be easy, but I promise it is worth it.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
While discipline is so important for us to achieve our goals, it is even more important in our time with God. Our prayer lives must be top priority.
Let me know how disciplined you are in your prayer life or do you need to step it up with me? How might that impact the goals you are trying to achieve? Everyone who comments will be entered toWIN The Mended Heart by Suzanne Eller.

Life doesn’t have to be chaotic when uncertainty arises.
I want to share with you my experience of walking through a recent health scare. As you can imagine when a doctor is concerned with my health it frightens me because of going through cancer and a near death experience several years back.
But I was amazed at how I managed to have God’s supernatural peace while life felt pretty chaotic when I thought I might be sick again!
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This passage took root in my life and literally gave me supernatural peace and strength as I waited several days on test results. I believe the reason I was able to experience God’s peace that surpasses all understanding is because of two reasons:
God is God and He can do anything!
Because I did not run to food to comfort or numb myself from feeling so afraid.
Running to food is a normal reaction when I’m feeling scared. Because I was not overloaded with sugar I was able to experience God’s peace on a much deeper level than ever before.
If you struggle with reaching for something other than God when you’re feeling afraid, I want to encourage you to stop and seek God’s presence before running to food, shopping, work, friends …
I would love to hear what things you might run to before seeking God first. Everyone who comments will be entered to WIN a special devotional book from Lysa TerKeurst, What Happens When Women Say Yes to God. Winner announced Feb. 28.
Journal with God: Write to God in your journal and tell Him all the things you are letting go of before seeking Him first. *From my journal: Dear God, I’m tired of eating to comfort myself. I’m choosing to stop living out of my emotions and sit with this pain long enough to allow you to intervene and comfort me. Thank you Jesus for your healing.

I’m really starting to develop some insecurity around writing my blog each week because I’m convicted to be gut wrenching honest with you.
Ugh…..Here we go….
I have to admit to you my sweet sisters; I struggle with being consumed with me!
You see I know God did not miraculously heal me from cancer and a month long coma for me to just sit around and be obsessed with me. Just like he hasn’t kept you alive for you to be focused and consumed with you.
But when it comes to taking a risk, like putting yourself out there for the world to see or trying something new we often end up paralyzed with fear because we consume ourselves with that one letter word…..I.
How can I do that? What if I look stupid? What if I am not good enough?
Which ultimately leads us to the vicious cycle of poor pitiful me, and then turns into a ridiculous self-loathing saga.
How in the world can we get ourselves off of our minds? I had a revelation to that question this week while reading this verse.
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
When we truly accept and love who God made us to be, there’s a divine freedom that floods the soul. And through this beautiful freedom we slowly begin to allow ourselves to do the work he prepared for us long ago.
So guess what? Instead of being trapped, agonizing over our thoughts and fears we end up moving into being completely consumed with God!
Have you been consumed with you or God lately? How can you begin to switch your focus? If you received this post via email, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link that has comment in it. I would love to hear from you!
